"For as long as I can remember I have had a passion bikes; it probably started when I was 11 years old when I cycled to Oulton Park and saw my first proper racing machines. I had never seen or heard anything quite like it and from that day on I became a bike enthusiast. My passion and enthusiasm for bikes is still just as strong.
My first bike at 16 was a Francis Barnet, followed by an Enfield Bullet then a BSA A10. I then graduated to a Rickman framed Bultaco but a mortgage and children came along I had to put bikes on the back burner for a while. In 1988 I bought a Gpz 750 and that was how I became involved in motorcycle paintwork. This one looked a little tired and seeing as how I was painting cars for a living, how different could it be? Well 20 years later I’m still painting bikes and still learning...
Since then, I have always had bikes and, due to my work and social life revolving around them, I really cannot imagine a life without them. These days I don’t ride that much on the road, instead I have a 920 Norton Commando which I compete with regularly in hill climbs during the summer and invariably have in a million pieces in the winter --why can’t we leave them alone?"
